Installation 2024

This project was inspired by the Jasper wildfires that began in July 2024. Having witnessed the surrounding cedar trees dying from drought and the increasingly severe wildfires globally due to global warming, I would like to discuss the gravity of environmental change and potential alternatives through my work.

The act of digging up the dead trees from our property was a personal ritual, expressing my wish for nature, which is being destroyed by human greed and the negative aspects of consumer society.

Looking at the structure of the intertwined and symbiotic tree roots, I am reminded that human life is also intricately connected to and dependent on nature.
